Better Sound Options for a Notebook
Yes, but SB makes a better one called the SoundBlaster Extigy. It's bigger
though. I have the Extigy and the sound quality is INCREDIBLE. I suspect this one is almost as good (the specs are not quite as good) but it is more portable. Tom "Will Sutton" wrote in message ... I have a Inspiron 500m notebook and am greatly disappointed with the sound. So what are my options to get a better sound from this notebook ? I see Creative has a new device out for notebooks ( it has a different name in the States ) http://australia.creative.com/produc..._digitalmusic/ Has anyone any knowledge of this device that connects to the USB port ? Or are there better options available ? -- _ /`_ / / |/ ____| __ |rsru\.-`` ) |---``\ _.' .-`'---``_.' (__...--`` Will Sutton |

Don't know about the specifics of the mobile sound cards, but I don't think it matters how "good" they are, they will always sound crappy from the notebook speakers. I haven't heard any notebook speaker worth listening to for quality sound. Just try even a cheapo headset, and I'm sure you'll notice the difference. |

I have tried headphones and other speakers and while they are a vast improvement its not the sound that I want. I like plenty of bass and not much treble. |
