Somewhere in the following very long thread is info on the hum from
power supplies- it is a known issue for this model.

Sorry, where?

Mhaxx

I can't recall exactly ( the thread contains over 1275 messages about
the 5715) but I know it is in there.
I *think* it is after page 40. You might try searching each page for
the term "power supply".. there are only 85 or so pages.

I would be very suspicious of the AC adapter. Its output is usually 19
volts
DC and should not cause any oscillation in the laptop computer. Can you
have
somebody with a meter check the output of the AC adapter? You could also
try
running the laptop with the battery removed. This would take the battery
load off the adapter and might change the problem. Post your results.

Well, to be honest without battery it's difficult to hear weel the
whine.. what does it mean? :-O

Mhaxx

I am not sure where you are hearing this noise. Is it in the AC adapter or
in the laptop? It sound like removing the batteries reduces the noise. Is
that right? I know you are having a little trouble with the language, but
try to post as much information to help us understand your problem.
Unfortunately, many problems like this are fixed by substituting parts.

I'm sure to hear the sound from the AC adapter, in fact if I try to
keep in my hands I can't hear the sound nomore, stronger I keep it
less I hear the sound, it seems like a bad fix of the case?..

If you get a smart, older tech, he could possibly add a little silicone
sealant or the like. But you have to know what you are doing.

I don't know what you're saying.. :-(

I think the best action you can take is to replace the AC adapter.

I've already tried to ask to my vendor, but he said any AC adapter of
this laptop does the same.. :-(

I don't know what your language is but I doubt I can explain it in that!

Young technicians often do not know how to fix unusual problems. Older
technicians often do have these skills.
