Microtek scanner problem by
cpliu
I use Microtek scanmaker V6UPL scanner and have a few problems:
1) I scan books and this scanner is very easily interrupted by other
activities like editing the finished scans (using FineReader). I have
used another scanner but it does not stop temporarily when editing the
finished scans.
2) It...

Umax Vista S6E driver Win2000 by
Mike Davies
I am trying to find a driver for the S6E on Windows 2000.
I have found references to MagicScan 4.3 having some support but this is
only available on CD. It can be patched for Win XP but not sure about
Win2k.
Anybody suggest a suitable driver which can be downloaded?
Cheers,
Mike

SHARPNESS problem - Nikon Coolscan - need hints or comments by
Ian Woodrow
Hi
I'm relatively new to slide scanning and now have a Nikon Coolscan III
(LS-30) to mess around with. Now, one thing I noticed was that using the
Nikon Scan software the colour of the initial scan is pretty bad with a lot
of blue tint... it would need a LOT of footering and manipulating to...

Scanner Help, please by
Jake
I've done a good bit of research on my own, but I'm lost in the search for a
decent scanner for my needs. Basically, I'm trying to find
out if I need to spend $300+ for a scanner good enough to reproduce
photographs for not-so-discriminating family, friends, and acquaintances. I
do not need to...

OS X 10.4 broke my Epson Perfection 2400 Photo by
Daniel P. B. Smith
I paid $9.95 for them to send me a new CD and downloaded all the
patches... none of which are dated later than 2004... and reinstalled.
Still no luck.
Has anyone had any luck with Epson Scan software under OS X 10.4?

Epson 3200 by
Don Cole
I have an Epson Perfection 3200 Photo.
Since installing Photoshop CS2 the start button on the
scanner only brings up CS2 without the Epson Scan.
When using Photoshop 6 start button would bring up Photoshop 6 and
the Epson Scan then you were ready to to.
I have uninstalled and reinstall both the...

Can't make this a quick question Subject title... by
DoubleEntendre
I scan documents with a fast document scanner (50+ pages a min at
300/400dpi).
Occasionally I have to scan a picture or a color graft/spreadsheet/whatever.
My question:
What do you recommend to do a quick color scan at 600-1200dpi?
Letter size, (bigger would be nice, if the price wasn't way out...

Thanks for the idea, but I am still on film for my photos. After this
project is done, I plan on getting a digital camera.
I do have access to a digital camera when my son comes to visit, so we
may try this.
Why a white mat board for a screen instead of a regular projection
screen?
I have a...

Handheld Scanner by

Is anyone aware of a handheld scanner that actually works under

I'm wanting to scan out of old books and a flatbed is impractical.

Kodak 2035 vs. Newer Scanners? by
Ken Spencer
For a whole bunch of years I have been scanning my 35mm negs with the
Kodak 2035 scanners at work. They use a halogen light source, so the
scans don't pick up a lot of artifacts from the film base and
scratches. I get really nice scans - it will handle over-exposed film
well, and the tonalities...
