maximum HDD size in Win98? by

I just built a PC last night, and I powered it up this morning for the
first time. The bios recognizes the HDD as 80GB, but when I run FDISK
to create the primary partition, it thinks there's only 10GB available.
I've used Win98 to format 20GB drives before, but never one this large.

My daughter is experiencing unexplainable blue screen crashes and the
machine automatically reboots.
The error message is not on for long enough to read it, but she did catch a
glimpse of part of the message, "machine_check_exception"

Problem with new P4 3.06 & win98se installation by

X-No-Archive: yes
Just upgraded my processor from a P4 1.7 - P4 3.06ghz.
The problem is Windows 98 SE always locks up at the same point at the start.
I established that the system is stable by putting windows XP on an external
hard drive and running PRIME95 & MEMTEST. Both ran fine for hours...

cpu temps with new cooler.. by

Hi all..took off my stock intel fan and heatsink , went with a
Zalman-CNPS7000A-AlCu. I used the thermal paste provided with the zalman
unit. My temps are a little higher now. Idle is 44, 37, 38. 44 in cpu zone.
Fan at around 2400rpm. Under load after running some games my cpu zone was
around 50c....

Need to locate clean patch for Pentium III SysBIOS by

I download a patch for my motherboard system bios from Intel only to

the .bio file has an "(H48): Invlalid reserved string in the flash
image header".
My motherboard id SE440BX-2
