Asus P5Q Deluxe ESATA port hard drive size limit. by
[email protected]
My esata port works great with my 1tb drives but will only show my 2tb
drive when the drive is powered up at boot. The 1tb drives can be turned
off without a problem. If I boot with the 2tb powered it will show but if I
turn it off then back on it will not. It is not an enclosure problem as I

P5Q Deluxe ESATA Question by
[email protected]
I enabled the Marvel in the bios and I turn the external ESATA drive on
before booting and it works fine. If the drive is off at boot and I turn it
on after booting the drive won't show up. Is this the way it should work?
Is there no way to leave the drive off until you need access to it? ...

My troublesome P5W DH De Luxe boards by
Leachim Sredna
Hi Group,
I was running one of these boards for a year or so some months back, but
started getting various strange problems ( I admit I had been overclocking
it a bit, and it was always a tricky board).
The last problem I recall appeared to be the floppy controller failing, but
I couln't pin...

Power surge damage by
John
My daughter had a power surge bad enough to get through the surge
protector and hit the computer. After the surge, the computer would
boot but had no internet or USB. Thinking that the mobo was fried,
she replaced it and that seemd to cure the problem. But a day later,
ir came back -- no...

My XP X64 system has one internal sata drive and I have read that AHCI can
be installed without having to reinstall windows. Would AHCI be of any
benefit or cause problems? I have heard that it can cause longer boot times
and cause IDE burners not to work. I know the saying "If it ain't broke

Network connecting laptop to PC and grounding issue ?!? by
Skybuck Flying[_2_]
Hello,
As you might now by now I am investigating grounding issue's ;)
The ammount of issue's with it is already staggering ! ;) =D
My latest question/wonderings is about laptops.
Laptops can either work without power cords/on batteries... or with power
cords even non-grounded power cords.

Does grounding a PC lead to less power usage ? by
Skybuck Flying[_2_]
Hello,
Question:
Does grounding a PC lead to less power usage ?
(If it's not grounded than 120 volts placed on pc chasis so they say.)
Will this 120 volts placed on pc chasis lead to higher energy bills ?

Computer won't turn on! by

Computer won't turn on!
About 4 months ago, my computer wouldn't turn on.
It has an Asus mobo with an ATX power supply. I turn it on and off at
least once a day.
I pressed the on button about 10 times and finally it went on.
A couple months later, I had to press the on button about 30...

P5Q Deluxe External USB/1394 Port Question by
[email protected]
I have installed ports with two usb each to the blue headers on the mobo.
One header has a red connector for the 1394 port. Am I better off not to
connect to large drives to these connectors or does it matter? Should one
drive be connected to one header and one to the other? Just wondering...
