Default Getting ". . . illegal operation . . . " when trying to install MS Home Publishing

Hi, All!
A friend of mine recently acquired a virus. Her husband took it to the
pros' and they took care of of the virus. The husband took it back
home and started to re-install all of the software. When they got to
MS WorkSuite 2000, all of the software installed, except the Home
Publishing. I tried everything I could think of and I still get "this
program has performed an illegal operation. I also tried "Search this
forum". They now run McAfee Virus Software. I disabled it, just to see
what would happen. Still got the ". . . illegal . . ." Any suggestion
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

vbprogwb
