Default Question for Color Laser owners??

Hello All,

I have owned 2 different color lasers (Minolta 2200 & 2300) & had access to
a ( Big Ricoh from a company) friends.

My requirements a

1 To print restaurant menus, sometimes as many as 10 pages times 100 copies.

2 To proof these pages in color (many times).

3 Do Business cards, Brochures, Ads, etc.

My print, initially would be about 300 single pages & 30 to 50 X 100
identical pages per month (the reason why I elaborate is that color lasers
determine when consumables (not always) by how many pages AND how many pages
times the original) .....unless you know what I mean, I will elaborate if
you write.

They involve:

1 A lot of text (8 point to 36, must be very clear for Grandfather &
Grandmother & dim lighting).

2 Pictures that must not be perfect (like those at King's) but nice enough
to entice the customer.

3 Of course I'll be doing other projects, but I'm sure I will know what I
can handle until after your suggestions.

I understand a laser is limited in it's output in the sense that the quality
can not equal ink printers.

The final question:

With everyone making Color Lasers, I am leaning to Xerox (most of mine have
been Minolta/QMS), can someone steer me in what & why they like a particular
printer?

Forgive me, I know there are a lot of variables, but all in all.......What
is a decent color laser ( quality of print & price of consumables), my
budget will allow up to $2000, but I would like to stay a bit under that
(considering how expensive consumables are)
figure......forgot to mention, most printing will be letter, sometimes
legal....11x17 would be on the future dream list (unless you know something
different).

Thanks to all that read this, I never was good at condensing words.

I would say you're looking at quite a low usage for a laser. You could
look at Ricoh's machines, since you've already played with one. Also
worth a look will be OKI. If you expect to be increasing the print load
Kyocera could also be worth a look - their machines tend to cost more
but seem to be the best for tank-like build quality and have lower
running costs.
