I've looked at some benchmark comparisons and the ti4200 does have the edge.
But I found none with 256mb. Maybe the increased DDR is just a selling ploy...I don't know. But I'm not a big gamer, just occasionally. And I like the fact that the card doesn't have to have a cooling fan. If it will play most 3d games at a moderate level, I'm happy. Thanks for the feedback. "Gnasher" wrote in message ... Sorry to dissapoint. |

I wish I could have said it that well. Bravo!

If you want to run benchmarks all day and jerk off to class leading figures then by all means spend the big bucks. NO kidding! As for the extra 128Mb making a performance
difference...probably not unless you are loading up more than 128Mb of textures. As long as you stick with the 128-bit datapath the 5200 is a decent card. You can't buy the entry level cards and expect the same level of performance as a top-end card; but it will still deliver at the least satisfactory game play for most games. And most of those performance differences are ONLY visible in either graphics hungry games running with everything turned on or at extreme resolutions or in SYNTHETIC benchmarks - in a shorter sentence, they're ONLY visible if you are looking for bragging rights and have some desire to spend $400-$500 for a video card.
