Compaq Proliant 800
I have a Compaq Proliant 800 PPro server. Yes I know it is old but it
is still enough for my needs. It has only 64 MB of memory occupying 2 of the 4 memory slots. The memory is some kind of EDO memory. Two of the clamps on the memory slots are broken so I may be able to use only two sticks of memory. I am hoping that someone in this newsgroup will have the answers to the following: What is the exact description of the memory sticks that I can use on this macnine? What are the part numbers of larger capacity memory sticks for this machine so that I can watch for them on e-bay? Any other recommended source? What is the largest capacity memory stick I can get for this machine? What should I resonably expect to pay for working memory. I would be happy with 256 MB. |

Buffered EDO
Max Mem = 1GB pay as little as possible. I bought my last gig that would work in that box for $28 shipped. - LC "Jin Mazumdar" wrote in message ... I have a Compaq Proliant 800 PPro server. Don't worry too much about the retaining clips being broken, 168pin
DIMMs aren't known for popping out of their sockets that easily. You need 2 x 256Mb EDO DIMMs which are cheap and plentiful. Regards, Jason.
