The Abit Siluro i have is 4X . Cant get it to boot. But listen to
this crap!
I have an Aopen GF4 Ti4200 DVC128MB 8X graphics card that has been in
the droor for about a year because i thought it was cooked (worked for
about 6 months, lost receipt). Would crash or present enough artifacts
that display couldnt be undestood. I am sure it is a heat problem
because it happens after pc warms up or gaming. Tried Thermaltake
kick-ass heat sink/fan and memory sinks on graphics card with no hope.
This was the system:
Asus P4PE
2.4 ghz P4
512 mb DDR
Anyways, not satisfied with the !@#$#$@ 8mb TNT card in the Compaq, i
stuffed the GF4 Ti4200 which is an 8X AGP card in the Presario 5002ca
and it seems to work fine. I played Motocross Madness 2 (KICK-ASS
GAME!) at highest graphics settings and it pumped it out no problem.
Whats up with that? Bios doesnt like Abit cards? I was thinking that i
would need a bios update to use a card any bigger than 8mb or faster
than 2X because the only other card i could get to work was an ATI
Expert@PLAY 8MB AGP(2X i believe). Maybe because the Presario is only
100mhz FSB? Shouldnt be because i think the agp bus is seperate.
What do you think?
Thanks, Homer, you know, that dude on tv.
