Default Access control for Lexmark printers

Assuming that these printers have Lexmark ethernet cards (or have it on the
system board), you can set it up so that it will only make a TCP/IP connection
with those addresses you specify.

Start your browser and then enter the IP address of the printer. This should bring
up the web page built into the ethernet adapter. Go to configuration and there
should be a TCP/IP tab. Click on this and it should allow you to enter IP
addresses that you want to allow to connect to the printer.

If you can't get it setup, send me a note at and I will send
you some screen captures to help.

Hello,

I have a few Lexmark network printers (Optra T622 and Optra S2450).
Certain users are printing directly to the printer - instead of printing to
the printserver - thereby avoiding a printer accounting tool designed to
determine who's printing what.

Is there a way to specify an access list on the Lexmark printers so that
only the IP address of my printserver is allowed to print on these
printers? I've noticed that some of the HP LaserJet printers in the
building do have these features but I can't seem to find them on the
Lexmark printers.
