wrote in message ... When I format and restore it comes up with "Format not supported on drive C" A few things to try: Did you do a full FDISK or not? if you did a fdisk you need to make sure that the primary DOS partition was created and that you have only one of them. a good link is here http://home.pacbell.net/dbk4297/fdiskformat.html if you did the FDISK then proceed as: Simply reboot the system after the partition is made. Then use the format option. or Try rebooting with CD support and boot to the CD rom. Then run the format command from the CDrom. If format.com is not on the HD you will get that message. Was there an OS on the C: drive partition before?? If so..what OS? or You can Enter the BIOS and make sure the HD is set to AUTO then reboot. There is also an occasion when the boot sequence is set improperly. In the older PB models it was set to "A, C, CD" Since your already in the BIOS you can check that out while there. I advocate the total removal of all PB junk from a system and then do a clean install of Windows..?? which ever version you have on hand. You can then use the PB CD to find the drivers folder and install the Modem and Sound card and Video drivers via that route or you can install a better OS (Windows 98 ) and then go back and install the drivers that are needed again after the OS is on the computer. I hope that helped? Elector |
