For troubleshooting purposes, see if the problem appears in other browsers
like Opera and Firefox. Both are free and simple, so you don't have to worry about poisoning your system. In IE6's Advanced Options, toggle a few options like "enable page transitions", "automatic image resizing", etc. and see what happens. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. dump internet exploder and try another browser www.mozilla.co and get
firefox (free). update video drivers, the geforce ti200 is long in the tooth, but should still display web pages perfectly. use drivercleaner to fully remove the old ones first. perhaps the missing parts of the pages are embedded objects? get shockwave and flash from macromedia, and java. update video drivers, the geforce ti200 is long in the tooth, but should
still display web pages perfectly. use drivercleaner to fully remove the old ones first. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html for driver archive, i'd try some around 45.33, unless i'm misunderstanding your card, which im assuming is a geforce 4 ti200. be sure to uninstall previous drivers before installing new (maybe older) ones |

I have tried to toggle those options, it did not cure the problem. Any other suggestions ??? I have heard of older cards having web page and general GDI rendering faults. The only way to tell if it's a card overheating, artifacting (from circuit failure or component failure), or a driver issue it to start diagnosing by reducing your acceleration level. In Windows XP, go to Control Panel Display Properties Advanced Troubleshoot and reduce the Hardware Acceleration slider all the way to None. Also disable "Write Combining" (it can't hurt at this point). This slider controls the Windows GDI Acceleration by your video card. GDI is the drawing method used by most all Windows apps to display graphics and objects on your screen. Video cards have accelerated this since the days of the very first NVIDIA cards like the Riva 128, TNT, and all the 2D accelerators before it. Try a reboot and see if this helps. If you can display graphics, but everything is just slow or chunky then you know it's worked and you have either certain portions of the chip failing or a driver issue. Otherwise, the card is completely at fault and must be replaced. Next to diagnose a driver issue, try installing the newest official WHQL driver (or a relatively recent one, such as 71.84 or above). The NVIDIA archive of drivers is available on FTP: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/ Here's an old driver that I personally used with my TI200 at the time: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/71...xp_english.exe Otherwise, NVIDIA officially supports the TI200 with the newest: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html Good luck. |
