Default How many CD/DVD writers can I have attached via USB?

For CD/DVD duplication, how many external drives can I have attached to my
PC?
The intention is to have 10 of them connected, say, and have them all
copying. : )
Would this run OK?
Or would it overload the operating system?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Depends... USB or firewire might be a problem but given a
fast enough system, a lot of memory and hard drives you
might be able to use SCSI for the opticals.
Ideally you wouldn't have 10 per system though, rather
adding another system(s) to reduce number of dupes per
system. Best course might be to simply try it and reduce
(or increase) number of drives per system till you reach the
threshold.

10 drives would exceed the bandwidth of the USB bus.
