If you can turn down the eye candy the performance should pick up.

You'll be wanting a new video card not new drivers.

Your playing a DX9 game with very old DX8 drivers. The DX9 functions that
your card can't handle have to be processed at the software level which even
a P4/3.2 can't make up the difference in speed. I would at least get the
45.23 or higher drivers which are DX9 compatible. My 5600 Ultra (400/800)
had minor stutters with Halo until I went with the 52.70's. Older so-called
"stable" drivers like the 30.82's are not the answer.

Which GF Ti card? GF4 or GF3?

For HALO to work correctly, you MUST download and use the 52.16
drivers for WindowsME... if you have a Ti4 series card, it will run
good. I've experinced this... and it works... but older games like UT
seems to be a bit more jerky ;(

I think there's nothing you can do to make Halo run
smoother, because as a PC-conversion it just sucks.
I'm amazed how so stone age-looking game can
possibly require about 5x the power X-box has on
PC to run good. Plus, if X-box is practically a PC,
then what took so long in the conversion process
and WHERE the hell is all the juice wasted to...

Is there an X-box-emulator hiding under the hood
or what? :-) Haha... Damn I'm funny today.

I'm using a Ti-200 (overclocked to 220/500) with the 44.03 drivers and Halo
runs perfectly smooth at 800x600 with vsync on. I previously ran the good
ol' 30.82 drivers but the sniper rifle didn't work properly.

I have vsync=ON in both the Display properties and the game, but this is
only a matter of preference. It results in a better picture (no tearing) but
at the expense of losing a few frames per second. I also used the Refresh
Rate Override screen (in Display properties) to force refresh rates of 85Hz.
Besides that, I left all the other graphical settings on default.
