3d support for intel 915pm express chipset
Hello. I am the proud owner of an Acer Aspire 9400, which uses the
intel 915 express chipset. I am running fedora core 5 and am attempting to use xgl. However, when I run xgl the graphics run VERY slowly. Everything tries to run and work, but does at such speeds that it's not very usable. I am assuming because 3d support is not enabled properly. I am looking for ways to enable support or for information regarding other factors which can cause this slowdown. As it is, the laptop is using the i810 driver and runs at 1400x1050. Formerly I had been using sled10 with xgl without the same speed issues, so I remain convinced some amount of configuration can run xgl properly. When I run x11 I do not have the same speed problems. Can anybody tell me how to enable 3d support properly or give other suggestions as to what might be causing this slow down? Thanks! |
