Default 400SP port replicator (not)

Gateway doesn't seem to offer a port replicator for the 400 series of
laptops. Interestingly, the Dell Inspiron 1100 has a port replicator
accessory, but the meager specs imply that it's connected via USB! That's a
brain twister; to get a parallel port, you hook up a port replicator to your
USB port?

I'm slightly surprised that Gateway doesn't have a port replicator for its
400 laptops. Are port replicators passe now, with the advent of USB-based
peripherals? I wouldn't have wanted to be without the replicator for my
existing Solo 5100 laptop (printer, Zip drive, mouse).

Did you just ask gateway. Ordering my 600 I had the same problem but when I
spoke to them in person they made it right! Docking np!
