Default LCD monitor

Hello

I am about to purchase a Samsung 171s TFT monitor. There is two models of
this type one with control/adjustments and one without. Can anyone tell me
is it important to be able to have control/adjustments. There is an extra
cost of approx £80 for this feature.

If you care to look at www.dabs.com and search for Samsung SM171S you will
see there are two models available with manufactures code GH17LSABJ and
GH17LSAS. The specification are different for both.

I've only ever known one 171s. See he
http://www.digiuk.com/samsung/
Its also a discontinued model. (missing from line-up here):

You'd be much better off with either a Hyundai Q17
http://www.imagequest.co.kr/
http://www4.tomshardware.com/display...ml#hyundai_q17

or NEC1701Bk
http://www4.tomshardware.com/display...itachi-04.html
(UK model no. is different from US).

If that is the case the 171 silver is wrong also as the quicklink says
172CWS. Now I am getting more confused. The real point here is is it
important to have the feature of the 171 black to have:
Controls / Adjustments: Brightness, contrast, H/V position, colour
temperature, zoom
whereas the 171 silver does not have these features?

Dabs web site is wrong. If you look at the 171 black the quicklink says
172FWS.
