Default concurrent burners?

Hi all.

Getting ready to purchase my next system and I have a question:
Can you have a DVD-RW/CD-RW and a CD-RW burner in the same system?

I can see where you might not be able to write concurrently to both burners
at the same time, but what if I want a system that will burn DVD's and also
allow me to burn CD-R's at a max rate (ie., 48 or 52x)? I understand that
the DVDRW/CDRW combo drives have CD-R write speeds that are somewhat
reduced... Interestingly, Gateway will allow you to configure a system with
both burners, but the Dell site will not. I get conflicting answers from the
Dell people on this that suggests to me that they don't know the answer.

Would appreciate any comments, advice, etc.

Thanks in advance, and please cc: any replies to me at
