It's similiar to a parent/child relationship - a Node (the parent) can have
multiple Ports (the child). Not all vendors configure the relationship this
way, some will have a unique Node Name for each Port on a multi ported
device.

It's similiar to a parent/child relationship - a Node (the parent) can have
multiple Ports (the child). Not all vendors configure the relationship this
way, some will have a unique Node Name for each Port on a multi ported
device.


On a more practical note, for servers, each HBA will have its own WWNN
and WWPN straight out of the box. If you have multiple HBAs installed
in a single server, then the server will often take the WWNN of the
first HBA and use that as *its* WWNN. All the other HBAs will be
instructed to report their WWNN as the server's WWNN.
