Building new PC for video editing

By building it myself. I'm specifically looking for a HyperThreading
PC, firewire, and I'd like an 800Mhz bus PC, with the correct memory
to take proper advantage of any other features the mainboard may be
capable of (such as Dual DDR).

I've been out of the tight loop on exactly what mainboard is best, and
such, so advice is welcome.

If I can build it for less or similar money, including shipping/CA
state taxes, and a copy of Windows XP, I'll probably build it myself,
since I know the parts will be better quality.

In short, my final price it must be done under is $1000, all items
considered, shipping, CA state taxes, OS, everything.

If not, I'll probably go with a... duh dah dun daaaa.. Prebuilt PC.

Please don't flame me, as I'm just looking for something to do some
video editing for 25-30 minute (end result) instructional videos.

Not sure on what Mainboard you want to use. I don't have specific
data on any for Video purp. However i recommend
http://www.accessmicro.com for building a pc like you have listed. I
did a quick check and I can build one with a faster processor for less
than the one listed there. Hard drive, Ram, and all as listed was
$609.xx
