Does anyone Skype?
This doesn't seem a likely place to ask but can't find a newsgroup.
Though I did post on Microsoft skype forum. I bought a second webcam, a pricey Amcrest AWC496. On https://www.wikihow.com/Test-a-Webcam-on-PC-or-Mac I can test the webcam picture (of me) and have tons of microphone volume thru my sound card and headphones. But on Skype when I run their test the visual is again ok, and when I test sound I can hear their chimes in my headphones but when I make a test call to their robot the message I'm invited to leave does NOT play back to me. I do not know anyone to Skype with for a test but I'm pretty sure they won't be able to hear me from my tests. I'm running Skype on Win 7, won't even run on xp. running Skype 8.67.0.97 - only one I could download. Suppose I could have posted this on Win7 newsgroup come to think of it. |

With Skype opened; Click on the 3 dots then clicks 'Settings' (Ctrl+Comma On left, click 'Audio & Video'. Scroll right pane down so you see; Audio Microphone - - Click whatever is over here and select the name of you camera. |

The answer which I got on the Skype forum was that after making the
'test call' do NOT hang up. After a slight delay the message played back perfectly. Kinda anti-intuitive but I should have been able to figure it out. On Mon, 28 Dec 2020 19:45:35 -0500, John B.
