I'll explain the circumstances below but to summarize this request, I'd
appreciate help of anyone near Madison, WI in determining if the
CompUSA store at 213 Junction Road (just off Hwy 12/14) is still open?

Do you not have telephone service where you live?

http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070228-8940.html says that most
of the CompUSA stores will start closing last February.

Missed the OP's:

The manager has not
responded to my emails and nobody is picking up the phone at the store.

didn't you.

I think the OP must have given them money (bet it was cash) so he's
worried!

They are not answering. I have tried the store number, manager's direct
line he gave me, as well email.

I paid with cc, so not as worried as I would be with cash. I don't
necessarily suspect foul play: store is closing after holiday
liquidation sale, so they are hard to get hold of. But I can see how my
order could fall through the cracks. So, if ready I'd like to pick up,
else cancel for refund or charge back at the bank. I can go there, but
it is 5 hr round trip, so just want to gather as much info as possible.

Have you tried 1-800-compusa? or any other of their numbers?

A five hour round trip makes virtually any bargin expensive. I'd
cancel and order online. May cost a bit more up front, but no wasted
time, no wasted fuel, no hassels, just a product from a company that
(we hope) will be there in a week.
