Default PCWorld Incredibly Bad?

Am cross posting my original text from elsewhere to find out if anyone here
has discovered the way to get PCWorld to communicate - praps someone has a
direct dial number or something.

Quote
Have ordered a couple of items online from PCWorld UK and have since found
it impossible to contact them by phone or email or more strictly to get
them to respond in anyway.
Call centre madness - I call it.
What are other UKcustomer experiences with this supplier and is there an
effective way through to them.

I used to work in that very call centre.

call the number 0870 242 0444 (I think), and start navigating the dreaded
IVR. Press 4 for other, then choose 4 again for customer services, and then
the option that applies (phone or web sales). That should get you through to
aftersales who are some of the more switched on people in the room. If you
have serious problems and can't get anywhere with aftersales, the team
leader in charge of aftersales is Tony Reynolds. However you should be fine
(once you get through that is.)

If you have serious problems I do have an 0800 number for them but I'd
prefer not to give that out unless you've got a serious grievance.

Cheers
Rob

Thanks for the info Rob.

So you have seen call centres from both side then?

What is the company mentality that allows a high profile org like pcworld to
become so derided by its customers who only want to get an answer to a
straightforward query (ie - delivery date) yet are literally unable to
navigate to a human response via the call centre. surely their apparant
arrogance cannot be productive. in the end they become a joke because of
this alone -dont they?

Or the old favourite, "my screen is blank and I bought my PC from you" op
"Have you turned it on?" customer "oh thanks it works now."

Also other ones might include "why doesn't my internet work?" or "how do I
do a spreadsheet?"

To be honest I know what you're saying. I might give it out but not on a
public forum. Just in case I'm ever desparate for a job!

Why's that? You don't post under your real name! Do you? ;-)

I ordered a Freeview STB from Dixons (same group) on 14 Jan. The item was in
stock when ordered. Still waiting for delivery. Got an e-mail saying due to
be delivered today. No sign of the item.
