Have a look here 'Laptop repair guide'
(http://repair4laptop.org/notebook.html). I have a sneaky feeling it's
not the usual coin cell but a capacitor type which will require
soldering.

Because the CMOS drain current is very, very low some laptops use a
large value capacitor instead they can come in all shape and sizes...
these 'may' usually use capacitor type markings on the PCB.
