Default Does ECC RAM work in the A7A266?

I have 2 news sticks of 512 MB Buffalo registered ECC PC3200 DDR RAM
(PC3200R-30330-Z), bought for another board, but would like to use them in
my A7A266. The ASUS manual contends that the A7A266 supports ECC RAM, but
doesn't specify whether this is ECC DDR or ECC SDRAM; am beginning to
suspect only the latter. With the new memory installed, the machine won't
even post, beep, no video, etc. BIOS is 1013.001 beta. Trying single 512MB
sticks separately doesn't work either. If I reinstall the original memory (1
stick of 256 MB PC2100 Kingston), everything is fine. Anyone have any
experience with ECC registered RAM in the A7A266?

Hi
You right, your Mb. working with ECC registered RAM but not work with
the dimm you have (PC3200R-30330-Z), this type of memory will work with
Mb. or server board that support CL3. You can check your MB. manual to
see what memory qualify to installed. (CL1,CL2,CL3...)
GOOD LUCK
