Default Sound Blaster Live 5.1...ticking noise noted

Hello,

I have just installed a SBL 5.1 card in my system, and when there is no
sound, and I turn up the speakers, I can hear a ticking noise.....quite
rapid...

Anyone else hear of this, and is there a fix?
