I no longer deal with any company using CityLink, they are a shambles,
Make sure you tell you vendor that you are no longer using them due to
their choice of courier...

Perhaps we should compile a "avoid" list of companies known to use
CityLink...

The thing is, they didn't call. They also didn't 'Card' me.
I have 2 dogs which bark whenever anyone approaches the front door - so

even
if I'm asleep, the dogs wake me up.
The dogs barked at 9:30 when the Postman delivered mail. They haven't

made a
peep since.

That's terrible. The poor dogs didn't get a walk all day?!

Don't worry, I took them out at 8.00 am when my missus was still in, and I
took them out at 5-ish when I realised I was 'carded'.
If I don't take them out at least twice a day, they (a Doberman, and a Irish
Wolfhound cross) will start entertaining themselves - rather loudly.

I always get stuff delivered to my work address and have never had a
problem. Ebuyer let you specify an alternative delivery address after

your
first order has completed OK.

I could specify a work address - if I knew which part of the country I'd

be
in when ebuyer tell me when they will deliver.
Anyway, its not the location that is the problem, its the fact that they

did
not deliver the parcel *anywhere* yesterday.

The parcel arrived today, at about 1pm, and when I opened the door, I

said,
'I guess I missed you yesterday'
The delivery guy said, 'Yup, you did.'
I repeated '*I* missed *you*, did I?'
When he heard the emphasis I placed on the 'I', he looked at me, saw the
game was up, and made the excuse... 'I tried to deliver yesterday, but

when
I got here, I realised the parcel was not on the van.'

So either incompetent, or a liar - take your pick.

You can check for youself - plop the consignment number (3 letters, 5
numbers) from the lable into the Citylink trackig system. It shows every
time the parcels are scanned on to the vans in the mornings.

If you're happy to ignore the fact that CityLink are abysmal in many
areas of the country then I'm sure customers in those areas are
equally happy not to do business with you!

Oh, "not on the van". I'd forgotten that one. Must be another one
from their checklist of standard b*llsh*t replies because I've had
that one two.

From memory, the various excuses I've come across, each time claiming
they've card me:-

No one at premises. (I was in and waiting for the parcel). No card.
Unable to find address. The properly is 70 years old and on a main
road! No card.
Parcel not on van. No card left.
Parcel not on van. Caught driver sprinting down drive after leaving
card.
Van broke down. No card left.
New driver doesn't know the route. No card left.
Driver is sick. No card left.

The one time they did deliver a parcel to me the driver ran up my
drive without the parcel and carded without knocking. I just happened
to see him pull up outside and opened the door as he posted the card.
The shocked driver didn't apologise and was evidently put out that he
had to actually open the back of the van and retrieve my parcel!

I accept other people around the UK have no problems but my local
depot (Derby/Nottingham) have been so consistently bad that I really
don't think it's just down to bad luck. For a courier company they
seem inexcusably bad at delivering parcels and I'm lucky to get
parcels which are supposedly "next day" within three days; only then
because I invariably end up making the 20 mile journey to their depot
in the middle of nowhere. Even that wouldn't be so bad if they
answered the phone, had reasonable opening hours, were not compulsive
liars and the people manning the counter "service" (when they can
actually be arsed to come out of the back of the building to attend to
waiting customers) were not so slow and rude! Last time I was there
there were two particularly offensive staff who didn't seem at all
phased by the fact there were a dozen customers waiting for parcels
(some with similar stories to above), a couple of whom had been
waiting more than 20 minutes.

So excuse me if my refusal to do business with companies who only
offer CityLink delivery is "anal" (according to Mr Snowden Computers)
but it doesn't matter how good or quick your service is, if you use
them that means hassle and late delivery for me every time!
