How to access monitor through SCL and SDA line of VGA port (access.bus protocol)
sonal wrote:
HI, I am using INTEL 82845G grapghic controller (which support DDC2BI protocol)and working on windows 2000 operating system. I am developing a software which will interact with the monitor through VGA port's SDA(system data line) and SCL(system clock line) data lines. According to access.bus protocol, pin 12 and pin 15 of a VGA port (D_SUB connector) are for SDA and SCl data lines. And they have given a protocoll about the data which should be sent to these data lines. Why do you want to do this? Are you trying to read the DDC info, or to connect something to the port that's not a monitor, or to write a driver to tweak monitor tweakables? -- http://inquisitor.i.am/ | | Ian Stirling. ---------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------- "An enemy will usually have three courses open to him. HI,
As I said I want to control monitor features using these lines. This is defined as DDC2bi standard protocol. This feature is supported in INTEL 82845G graphic controller, but I am not able to use it , as I don't know how to send data on these lines in windows operating environment. INtel's driver must have supported this features, but I don't know how can I use this? Please help me in this regard Ian Stirling wrote in message ... sonal wrote: HI, I am using INTEL 82845G grapghic controller (which support DDC2BI protocol)and working on windows 2000 operating system. This is probably a question better asked on a windows group, as you want to know if there are any windows calls to toggle the data lines. microsoft.public.development.device.drivers? I strongly suspect that the device driver for the video card may claim those port ranges, so it would be hard to even write a device driver for it, you'll need to talk to the device driver running the card. -- http://inquisitor.i.am/ | | Ian Stirling. ---------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------- Money is a powerful aphrodisiac, but flowers work almost as well. -- Robert A Heinlein. |
