Default Remnants of disk data?

Just had a dream about retrieving data already overwritten. I have no
scientific background whatsoever, but wrote down these words in my
journal:

"In analyzing the structure present on the surface, it is abundantly
clear that remnants of data -- however small -- still exist beneath
the surface of the present layer.

The patterns remaining exist because of isotopic distinctions between
the sublayer and the current layer. Microspect analysis of the mylar
surface (of the recorded media) will bare these results out.

_____________ Present layer (01010101...)
------------- Sublayer remnant {01010101...)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Second sublayer remnant (01010101...)
Up to three layers of subcoded data (sublayers) may be retrieved via
microspect immersion 3600 times light."
I have no idea what "microspect" is, nor do I understand the terms
"immersion" or "3600 times light". Was my dream talking about
amplifying the strength of light by 3600 times? Does "immersion" mean
immersing the mylar surface in some sort of solution to extract the
previous data layers underneath the present one?
This all came from a dream I had last night, by the way.
Thoughts?
Sincerely,
Paul Panks
