I have an Epson Color 880 and have used it daily for the last two years with
no problems. I think most problems are caused by people using them
intermittently

Printers should be used as needed and as desired without having a problem.

You are absolutely correct. Intermittent use is the prime reason for
printer problems. While printer makers don't state that in their
manuals, they do admit (in a roundabout way) that you should expect
clogging sooner or later, saying: "Cleaning the print heads removes any
blockages in the print head nozzles. Clean the print heads if printing
is faint or a specific color fails to print."

I've been using refill and bulk inks in my iP5000 for exactly a year now
and suffer no clogging whatsoever. The only time I hit the clean cycle
is when switching cartridges in order to prime the new ink. But I do
make a point of printing something, anything, at least once a week.

I have no need to make any New Year's resolutions for my printers as I
have had wonderful success with the inks I've been using and the 4 sets
of cartridges I rotate between the 2 (sometimes 3) printers. You can't
argue with success!

Happy New Year to all the GOOD people in this group.

Further to my message I only use compatible inks on my Epson 880 with no
problems!

HE FORGOT TO TELL YOU HE REPLACE A CLOGGED PRINTHEAD IN ANOTHER
PRINTER. ONE, TWO OR EVEN TEN PRINTERS IS NOT ENOUGH OF A SAMPLE FOR A
TEST. THIS HIGH SCHOOL KID PRINTS EVERY DAY AND IS A TINKERER. HE DOES
NOT FIT THE PROFILE OF THE AVERAGE ADULT WHO BUYS A PRINTER.

How do you store your four refilled sets? Any danger of leaking?

THAT IS WHEN THEY ARE NOT CLOGGING
