Gateway Solo 9100 hard drive problem
Sounds like the drive has a bad sector - download the Hitachi Drive Fitness
Test (www.hgst.com) and test the drive before going further. "Michael Funaro" wrote in message ... Hello, I have a Solo 9100 that I am putting a new 10 gig hard drive in. It seems to Fdisk ok but when I try to format it says " trying to recover allocation unit 150,870" over and over but the number changes. It ends with "Not Ready Format Terminated" Its a Hitachi DK23. Could this drive be bad or could it be the hard drive controller that is bad? Thanks for reading. Mike
