Default HP DVD Writer200i On Compaq Presario 6000

Can someone help.

I bought a Compaq Presario with the above DVD-R .

I cannot seem to get the DVD-R to recognise recordable DVD media when trying
to record to DVD.

Hopefully you are using DVD+R or +RW disks??? and not DVD-R/RW media?

Specs are he
