Default Celeron D with Digimatrix

Hi,
I have a mother (Asus Digimatrix) that supports P4 and Celeron. Do you
think it will also work with Celeron D? It is not listed as supported CPU.
But, I thought Celeron D is fully compatiable with Celeron.
I purchased a Celeron D 2.4G. The mother board does not even boot. No
beep and no VGA out. I know the mother board does boot up with a P4 that I
have.
Is this a bad Celeron D processor, or a Celeron D compatiability issue?

Thank you
Jim
