Default Alternatives for (tight) budget set-up: to SATA or not to SATA?

Is the presence of a SATA option enough to make me pay 30 Euro more in
a 400 Euro system? note that this difference is roughly what it would
take to make, with said budget, an XP2200 based machine or a Barton
2500+ machine. Yes, things are that strict on this one... would
appreciate also comments on KT600 Mobos such as Asus a7v600 or
gigabyte GA 7VT600-L

Thanks a lot for the help,

Miguel

The performance gains are sooooo small... it's really not woth the extra
dollars. You are much better off makeing sure your desired motherboard
supports ata133 and buy a drive to match... not to mention the 80 wire
cable too...
