Default Bluetooth backward compatable.

Hi Guys
I have looked on the internet about this and spoken to a guy in a
computer shop for advice. I don’t always trust some of these guys as
they come out with ridicules statements some times.

I bought a Bluetooth usb from the shop in 2006 for my mobile phone to
connect to. I have recently tried to install it on Windows 7/64. But
it doesn’t work it seems to be a version 1.6 according to the readme
file. The latest ones are v3. Even though it will they will install on
windows 7, are they compatible with my mobile phone which will
probably be a v1.6. I feel I need to ask you guys for re-assurance on
this.

This is what the guy in the shop is like. Dealing with a customer over
his laptop not being able to run. He says he has to re-install
windows. He went on to say that “You have to re-install windows on
computers at least once every three years”.

Never read that in any documentation.

TIA

Desmond.
