Default New PC, spyware ?

I am looking at buying a new PC but have seen some comments that some
manufacturers pre load adware/spyware that then needs to be removed.
Can anyone confirm this, or otherwise, and if so which manufacturers do
this (Emachines ?)

Thanks
Daveg

I bought a Gateway refurb about 3 months ago. Even though I saw no
spyware, there was no shortage of crapwa

* Signup offers for 1001 online services

* Gateway help this is little more than a product catalog

* Skads of crippled versions of software that spend most of it's time
advertising how great the full version is.

The first thing I did was reformat and install the OS and drivers ONLY.

the few applications that he wants to use.

I would suggest you do the same. This, of course, means that the PC
must come with the installers to do this type of thing, but that's
something you should confirm before you buy in any case.
