NF7-S and cd rom problem

I was sure when I upgraded to XP I found that ASPI wasn't needed as XP
supplied it's own equivalent.

I've just installed some cd-ripping s-w I haven't needed in ages, and it's
moaning it can't find a cd-driver.

But I also have an abit nf7-s and have no problems with my samsung cd-writer
other than with these programs.
