Default HT cpu Works fine in Windows 2000

on
CPU ? ?

It will work fine, but it's not optimized for it. The biggest problem is
when one virtual CPU is doing useful work and the other is spinning. Windows
2000 doesn't know how to properly idle the other processor and it may wind
up stealing execution units from the processor doing useful work, thus
causing the other processor to spin for even longer. If you don't care if
you might see a bit of a slowdown in some cases, then don't worry about it.

(Can you tweak the default spin count and lower it? I remember there
being a setting for that in the registry?)
