seeking quiet desktop power supply
Got a new black desktop case from aria at the weekend - which has a
very noisy psu (in fact it should have come with a 350 watt job but a 300 watt was supplied by mistake). Problem is that it's a non-standard atx size so I cannot just swap out for a truepower. Anyone know a source for a replacement, ideally one that take air out of the case not blows it in as this one does, but which must be pretty quiet Cheers Brian |

It does - weird or what - obviously the same make as the people who do the ebuyer case - the only good news is that the two 60mm extraction fans are immediately next to when the hot air comes in, so venting it out again won't be too much of a problem Brian |

It was later revised for the obvious reasons of the PSU contributing hot air to the case. Simply turn the PSU fan around, the air will still come out the vents (the PSU fan is built into the 'roof' of the PSU I assume?) If its much too loud, check out http://www.pcpowerandcooling.com and their power supply selector. Should help you figure out which one to look for since their prices to the UK leave something to be desired ;-) -Leon. -- cut out spammed |
