Best Heatsink for an Athlon XP 3200
What's the best heatsink for an Athlon XP 3200. Not looking to spend a
fortune but my idle temps of around 55 degrees C are a little on the high side and I'd like to bring em down a bit. Thanks, Steve |

The SLK900A is a gem of a heatsink, paired up with any fan you like. Simply choose your trade off between noise and cooling and pick a fan to suit. Lots of manufacturers come and go with the latest fad. But the Thermalright products are consistently the best. Chip |

Thanks, Steve I recently purchased a Thermalright ALX-800 (as recommended by Wes). The HS lowered my temp as much as 10 degrees. The HS doesn't come with fan. I added a Thermaltake smart fan......Very happy with results. Boot up 37 load 45 nc http://www.overclockercafe.com/Revie...Right_ALX-800/ |

Good point. The Zalman 7000A Cu is a fine device too. Unfortunately it doesn't fit all motherboards nor cases because its so big. It wouldn't fit on my old Abit nf7-s and many people find the PSU gets in the way with smaller PC cases. Chip |

About $10 TR2-M1 (or -M3). Cheap, good performance and very quiet. About $20 ALX-800, Should be better with proper fan (not included) Either will do a better job than the stock cooler. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.htm |
