Default Dell OpenManage Client Instrumentation - OMCI

I have many Dell client computers and a Dell OpenManage IT Assistant
server. I can use IT Assistant to shut down a computer remotely from
the IT Assistant. When it works, it really works well, I can even see
when a hard disk is full, remotely.

The OpenManage client software only works on my older XP
installations. Unfortunately, IT Assistant does not recognize my newer
XP installations. I've checked the specs hundreds of times. They are
all the same. The hardware models and bios versions are exactly the
same.

Old installations: Windows XP SP1a + automatic updates (not yet SP2)
New installations: Windows XP SP1a + automatic updates (not yet SP2)

Old installations: Dell OMCI version 7.1
New installations: Dell OMCI version 7.1

Old installationsell IAP.exe version 7.1.382.0
New installationsell IAP.exe version 7.1.382.0

Old installations:winmgmt service 5.1.2600.0 & driver extensions

New installations:winmgmt service 5.1.2600.0 & driver extensions

I used different CDs. That's all I know:

**2003** CD from Dell XP no SP
**2004** CD from Dell XP SP1a (purple & white)

There could be something different in the belly of the OS. I don't
know what that could be. IT Assistant just says my new system is not
"instrumented", I see two identical set-ups.
