Default Is there an Intel chip I'm missing? - thanks all

Plenty of the articles I've seen have said that the 955 (and the D 9xx
series in general) has virtualualization support, including Intel's own web
page:

I'm looking to build an Intel based system which is as capable as
possible within the budget and specs. I would like to have dual core,
hardware virtualization support, EM64T and HT, and I don't see a CPU
which provides that. I didn't see any new announce which has all this,
and it starts to look as if the 955 chip is as close as I'm going to get.

I have here a hardcopy of a sheet I pulled off the Intel web site,
comparing the Pentium D, EE, and core duo processors, and damned if
there's a footnote saying that the EE supports the same VM stuff as the
core duo.

Now I'm totally confused, does Intel have two kinds of "hardware
virtualization support" now to muddy the waters even more?

Thanks for the link, I wish all the pages on the Intel site would agree,
or if they agree use the same terminology :-(

I'm surprised if it only footnotes the 955EE/965EE; my understanding is all
of the 900-series chips had it, from the 920 on up.

Not as far as I know; as far as I know, all of their 65nm chips have
virtualization support, whether Core Duo, or last-legs Pentium 4/Netburst
based.

You're welcome.

Intel is a very big company; it's pretty well guaranteed that some parts
won't always know exactly what the other parts are doing.
