LG GSA 4040B DVD Writer and Nero 6.0.0
I'm using Nero 6.0.0 and have purchased a new DVD burner, the LG GSA 4040B
burner. When I'm on the final burning step, Nero recognizes my burner as D: HL-DT-SD DVDRAM GSA-4040B (CD-R/RW). It doesn't recognize the DVD capability of this drive. Yet, the burning software that came with the drive (Gold version 5) works and recognizes the drive as a DVD drive. Any thoughts on how I can get Nero to work with my burner? Thank you |

If the Nero is a retail version then get an upgrade from www.nero.com . If its an OEM version that came bundled with another drive then it will never recognise the LG. |

If you look in the upper left corner of the dialog that comes up when you elect to make a new compilation, you'll see a small drop down menu box. It will give you options for CD, DDCD, DVD, and HDBURN. The default option is CD, and if that's what's selected, you'll only see the CD burning options. If you click on it and select 'DVD', you'll see the DVD burning options. It's pretty easy to overlook. I've not used the Express interface, but I'd imagine it does something similar somewhere. ---------------------------------------- Thanks, MCheu |
