Default KM2M / overclocking

Hi Group, I've got a fairly good knowledge of building PC's but never
gone down the route of overclocking... until now.
I've just put together a machine with an MSI KM2M mobo
with a AMD 2000XP processor / 512 DDR 2100 / XP pro.
I'm led to believe that this board has fairly good overclocking
opportunities, but not having done this before I'm a bit
reluctant to try.
Can anyone put my mind at rest with some info and is it
really worth the hassle for the improved performance I'm
going to achieve ??
Any help appreciated.
Fogler
