Default Installing DVDRW In Acer Aspire 3000

I have a 6 month old Acer Aspire 3002LC Laptop which I have decided to upgrade with a new DVDRW. I have bought the drive but I cannot seem to get the old one out. I have tried everything short of opening up the unit. Does anyone know how to install one? Most laptops have easy to remove drives but some can be real pains. Any help would be great, as this thing was quite expensive!
