IS DUAL CHANNEL POSSIBLE WITH DIFFERENT RAM?

I have a dual channel motherboard, I have a 512mb stick of 667
INFINEON DDR2 ram and a 512mb stick of 667 RAMBO DDR2 ram.

Will these run in dual channel mode? How will I know if they are or
aren't running in dual channel? and to be honest...will I really
notice the difference between dual channel and non dual channel running
an AMD 3800 dual core AM2 CPU?

Yes, it can work. In the BIOS set the timings of the memory controller to
match the lowest performance sticks, and insert the matching sticks into
slits 1-3 and 2-4.

DualChannel is 2% - 5% faster than without. I tried working (word, excel,
database programming) with and without dualChannel and i could not feel any
difference (i have a X2 3800+ with 2 x 512Mb).

Dual channel can get you a 10% improvement if you are using large chunks of
memory. Something word or excell will only do as bloat ware. I don't know
about gaming, but with numerical processing of large matrices it definitely
is an improvement.
