Default "lightscribe disc information encoded in the middle of the disc could not be read"

This is just a heads-up to those lucky enough to know how to search the
newsgroups for issues like this.
I recently purchased a new Compaq with an HP dvd740b LightScribe drive.
I also purchased a 5-pak of HP CD-R 52x "for LightScribe Direct Disc
Labeling enabled Burners".
Finally, I purchased Nero 7 and installed that on this system.

Hours have been lost due to the message "lightscribe disc information
encoded in the middle of the disc could not be read".
Software has been uninstalled and, some, re-installed - due to reports that
the software that came with the system (Sonic) does not necessarily
cohabitate well with Nero.

In the end, the issue was NEVER the software, but the CD-R's themselves.
I first was able to burn a label on a Verbatim DVD+R for LightScribe w/o
issue.
I then went and purchased a 10-pak of Memorex CD-R for LightScribe and they
work just fine, too.

So, HP CD-R 52x LightScribe media may be your issue, too, if you get this
error.
Try to burn the label FIRST before putting data on a single disk in the pack
so you have some ability to return them if they're defective.
