AMD Barton speeds ?

Can someone tell me, how the AMD processor speed is calculated ? My barton 3000+ processor runs at 2.17 Ghz (13x166). How is this calculated ???? Just like you have it 13x166. Multipler times FSB clock speed =cpu clock speed. That 166MHz will actually be more like 166.67MHz though. Do the math, 2166.71MHz or rounded to 2.17GHz. BTW, all cpu speeds are calculated this way, not just AMD's. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.html |

Thanks in advance Stefan Amsterdam / Holland The PR rating for most T-Breds is (rated speed: x 1.5 minus 500) For example1533 x 1.5 minus 500) = 1800 Since the Barton has twice the L2 cache, AMD increased the PR numbers to reflect this.More like (speed x1.5 minus 100), for the Barton. -- If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. I think what the original poster was asking is how does AMD calculate that a 2166.71MHz processor is a 3000+. -- Not everyone thinks I am useless.
