Compaq armada 1750 Upgrade Help
I don't know if anybody is familiar with the older Armada 1750 laptop, but
my question may not be laptop specific anyway. I was given this laptop in its original packaged hardware with a Pentium 2 and 64k ram. I'm wondering if I bumped up the memory to 128 or 256k ( leaving the processor alone)----would I see a fairly noticeable increase in speed etc? I'm only planning on doing basic operations with the laptop including connecting to the internet. I know its a long way from the high speed laptops of today, but if an inexpensive memory upgrade can give me a little more speed performance, I would be happy. Beats buying a new one for which I don't have the money for. Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts, Al |

Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts, Al The maximum memory you can have is 192 megabytes which is the addition of one 128 megabyte DIMM. Your hard drive must have enough free space for the larger hibernation file and larger swap file. With larger available memory, programs will not have to be moved in an out of virtual memory as much which offer some speed increase. -- Earl F. Parrish |
